It is hard to believe that Karamea has been with us for a year and a half now. We feel so blessed to be able to see her smiling face every day. Even as she tests the boundaries of her independence, she remains a sweet, happy kid with a great sense of humor. She is getting very good at communicating and her vocabulary includes over 100 words (some of which are only intelligible to Mama, Dada and a few others)We recently started trying out the potty chair with her when she wakes up and she has actually gone potty a few times on it! I got a really good laugh when Mark compared it to house training a puppy and making sure you put them out when they wake up. He does have a point though. It will definitely be a while until she is fully potty trained, but it is a start and we're happy that she is getting more familiar with the concept.
On the down side, Bear, our (normally) wonderfully well behaved 3 year old dog, has started lifting his leg in the house recently. We're not sure yet whether this has some connection to Karamea's potty training and the fact he hears us telling Karamea to go pee, but we're hoping that it ends soon!
