WIldlife

With two kids under two, we didn't get out to explore as much as we used to, but we still had some encounters with wildlife this summer. Some were more hands on (see this post) and others were from a respectful distance (and for good reason...) Thank goodness for good zoom lenses!

Here are some pictures we captured. I would have shared these earlier, but life has just been a little crazy lately...I actually started this post a month ago!
P.S. The light was sort of bad for the orca pictures...They came through the bay at about 10 pm! We were just grateful it wasn't raining so we could get some shots. Something interesting about this pair of orcas is that we see them every summer. The female has a torn dorsal fin and that's how we know it is the same pair.

Great pictures. One of these days you'll have to get us newbies up to speed on what takes you to AK each summer, and what sorts of things you do while you're up there.

I admire the heck out of the fact that you hauled two kids and a big dog up there this year!
