Kaylee at 18 Months

Kaylee's humor continues to grow and shine and she loves goofing around with all of us. In the last month, she has become a bit of a ham and flashes her biggest grin after she realizes that someone is taking her picture. She loves sliding in the park and has recently started sliding down the stairs at home too (Much to our chagrin...) We've been taking walks in the park near our home after dinner lately, and she picked up on the routine quickly. After just a few days of the new routine, she started asking, "Park?" after she has finished eating. She likes 'singing' Baby Beluga at the dinner table (She just sings "Baby, Baby Bal..." to the tune and we know where she's going with it...and usually start up singing it ourselves.)
Kaylee has gone through a lot of physical changes this past month: All four molars are now in, her hair is getting much blonder, and she is slimming down some since she is always on the go. Her 18 month checkup is coming up in about a week, so I will add info then about how she has grown since her last appointment.
She has been communicating even more verbally, adding a lot of words to her already large vocabulary:
hand, "I love you" (melts my heart!), drip, avocado (mostly 'cado), broccoli (brocco), meat, diaper, Lana (my mom's dog), people, phone, chip, hug, fast, truck, pop (for popsicle), peach, brush, teeth, bug, park, walk, swing, Kaylee, meat, banana (nana), color, cracker, foot, toe, happy, hat, kitty, goose, bonk, drop, ride...(sorry if there are any repeats there...)

The other night at dinner, Karamea was encouraging Kaylee to mimic words and we were blown away at how well she did. She said yellow, blue, pink, brown, black, and red. Then I tried to get her to say 'green' and she replied, "Bean." So cute. Then she started listing body parts, starting with belly, and then leg, arm, and hand.

I can hardly believe that this endearing, darling child has been with our family for a year and a half. I cherish the fun memories we are making now and am so happy to see the little girl she is becoming. We are truly blessed beyond measure. Happy 18 months, Kaylee! You mean so much to us!
