We had some wonderful weather over spring break, and took a day to head to the Zoo with the kids one day. It was a ball. This was only the second time for Karamea and Kaylee, and it was Merrick's first time at the zoo. We were there almost exactly two years ago, when Kaylee was about a year old.
Merrick was interested in everything, including the many geese that were walking around.
We splurged on the train AND the carousel, but I think next time, we'll just go for the carousel. It was definitely the girls' favorite part of the day.
But we also had fun observing all the different kinds of animals.
About halfway through out time there, we stopped to snack on some yogurt and take a break from being on our feet. It was starting to feel pretty warm!
Then we continued on, got a close up look at this elephant:

By the end of our time there, the little ones were getting snuggly and ready for their naps. It melted my heart to see Kaylee and Merrick being so sweet together.
(Although I should note that these few sweet moments ended when someone
got a nibble on their arm...Oh well, it was nice while it lasted...)
Merrick fell asleep in his car seat before we even got out of the
parking lot! It was a nice day, and we walked away with some really fun memories.
P.S. A little fyi for local peeps: We got a $5 discount on our admission because we have a membership to the new museum in Fort Collins. And I guess we'll even get free admission to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science with our membership. We haven't tried it out yet, but we're excited to.
