Kaylee at 11 Months

February was a whirlwind and I can't believe that Kaylee is turning 11 months tomorrow! We enjoyed time with Mark's parents at the beginning and end of the month (they visited relatives in Minnesota in between). It was fantastic having them here and the girls just loved all the time with Grandma and Grandpa.
It has been a month of exponential change for Kaylee and there are so many little (and big!) things I want to remember. Starting with taking her first steps days after she turned 10 months old, she kept making new discoveries in all areas, learning to clap, play the recorder, climbing on, over and through pretty much anything she could, eating finger foods really well on her own, walking behind the toy car, and finally letting go of furniture and walking! At this point, she's taking about 7-8 deliberate, fairly well-controlled steps before falling. She even slept through the night a few times (until she started teething again-she's now up to seven teeth!)
Kaylee also started a new bedtime routine recently and is now getting sleepy around 6:30 pm. I nurse her one last time before bed and then lay her in her crib, where she is content to snuggle down and fall asleep on her own. She wiggles with glee when we rub her back and doesn't say a peep when we leave the room. This is such a change from a few months ago when we started letting her cry it out for a little while when we put her down. Not that she was bad then, but it is such a joy to have a baby who is so happy to go to sleep! It's hard for me to grasp that she's almost not a baby anymore. She is becoming more and more of a toddler every day and I can't believe that she'll be turning one in a month.
Simultaneously showing off two of her new talents: climbing on things and playing the recorder.
