Happy 13 months, Kaylee! It really feels like she has left babyhood behind and is emerging as a full-fledged toddler. She isn't completely weaned from nursing yet, but since she turned one, she gets cow's milk during the day and nurses when I get home and when she goes to bed, which is about how things went when weaning Karamea.
Here are some of the highlights of Kaylee's development over the last month:
- Walking around almost everywhere and learning to navigate the stairs safely
- Sleeping through the night most nights (Hallelujah!)
- Words: up, bear, ball, down, bye, da, ma, num, dog, hop
- She's very affectionate: blowing kisses, leaning in and giving kisses and big bear hugs
- Playing around holding a spoon and practicing scooping things off her highchair tray

One her favorite spots is a little reading nook in the bookshelf. She loves to crawl in, sit up and look at books. She has a great sense of humor and we can always count on a great big grin on her face when we say "Kaylee, Kaylee, Kaylee" in a singsongy voice. We are enjoying every minute with this precious little girl!
