Karamea waited for her first day of preschool with eager anticipation and we were all excited to see her embrace the new chapter in her life. She had to miss the first official day because we had all been sick with a horrible cold the weekend before school started and we certainly didn't want to take the risk of infecting everyone. Turns out she didn't get nearly as sick as the rest of us, but better safe than sorry...
So she started two days later and never missed a beat. She likes it and just beams with joy when asked about how school was, but we still haven't gotten too many details from her about what happens in the two and a half hours she is there. If we ask questions, she might answer them, but doesn't elaborate much. I sure didn't think I would have to be resigned to not getting information from my child about school this early in life, but part of me thinks that it is all still very new (she's only been there three times) and that she is still processing a lot of what is going on. Once it becomes more routine, we might hear some more stories.
Here are a few fun facts that she has shared with us:
- The class fish's name is Bubbles.
- She played with table toys today.
- She had juice and cheese for snack one day. (For how excited she was, it must have been the best juice and cheese EVER!)
